Do the Things I Love

Woke with a crick in my neck
Everyday since you passed
It’s been two whole weeks
Don’t know how to say goodbye to the pain I can’t forget
Made it home in time
To join family and friends
To talk about your larger than life until its untimely end
I sympathize
For the son that you left
Ten short years to raise him
And you did your very, very best
We want to be free!
Be free to do what we want to
And we want to ride!
Along our tracks without being hassled by The Man!
And we want to get loaded
With our friends and we’re going to have a good time
We want to live our lives
And that’s what we’ll do
We’re going to have a party!
One whole year has passed
As I ride along again
Voices haunt my mind whispering the dangers in reaction
I try not to live in fear
Give my full confidence
And as you remind me to live my life with no worries about the end
I know not to sit and hide
I’ll stand and play til I’m dead
A short life it would be to not do the things I love til the very end
We want to be free!
Be free to do what we want to
And we want to ride!
Along our tracks without being hassled by The Man!
And we want to get loaded
With our friends and we’re going to have a good time
We want to live our lives
And that’s what we’ll do
We’re going to have a party!

A Letter To My Friend
04:41
|
|||
Hey there!
How’ve you been?
Where did you go?
And what have you seen?
Is there another life after this catastrophe?
Can I watch from the clouds and see my friends succeed?
Tell me, what should I believe?
Is there a god above controlling everything?
Did you solve the puzzle of life’s meaning?
Who was right?
Was it them or me?
Could you let me know about all of our friends?
Where did they all end up after all was said and done?
Was everyone hanging out upstairs?
Or is everyone down below the ground now?
Could you tell me all the beautiful things?
All the wonderful things that you've seen?
If you see my little Trapper Bean
Give him a rub and tell him I LOVE HIM!

Til the Very End

Woke with a crick in my neck
Once again
Thoughts bring back memories of when
You saved me from the desolate woodlands
Or that time you taught me to ride
After decades of experience
And I realize the knowledge in my friends
Is the quality I surround myself with
I won’t forget the time
I’ll never forget the day
When the crowds showed up to celebrate in honor of the life you made
We want to be free!
Be free to do what we want to
And we want to ride!
Along our tracks without being hassled by The Man!
And we want to get loaded
With our friends and we’re going to have a good time
We want to live our lives
And that’s what we’ll do
We’re going to have a party!
